Fish Rescues

Fish rescues and planned fish removals are a key area of our work, we have vast experience in this area having carried out fish rescues and fish removals from both rivers and still waters throughout the UK.

The majority of these are usually associated with de-watering or in-stream works where there is a planning or consent requirement to remove the fish before work can be undertaken.  However, we are also equipped to undertake emergency fish rescues where fish have become stranded as a result of a natural occurrence such as drought conditions or when an unforeseen incident happens such as a dam or structure failure.
In most cases, the fish can be relocated immediately to an unaffected area of the catchment or water body, however where the fish need to be returned directly to the removal site at a later date, we are equipped to hold fish for later return.

We can respond at short notice anywhere in the UK to carry out fish rescues and removals and can also arrange for Environment Agency (EA)consents to be in place, the EA are generally very helpful with fast tracking consents to deal with emergency situations.
In addition, all members of the team hold current certificates in construction site safety training (CSCS cards), and are equipped with the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), allowing us to operate safely and effectively on construction sites. We are familiar with construction site procedures and protocol and have appropriate work instructions and risk assessments in place for our fish removal operations.
